Process — How Virra Works | Virra
How Virra works

Straightforward from your side.
Precise behind the scenes.

Virra takes full ownership of your technology from the first conversation to the ongoing relationship. You stay focused on running your business. We handle everything else.

Process overview

Five phases.
One ongoing relationship.

Every Virra engagement follows the same structured approach — thorough at the start, practical through delivery, and continuously supported after launch.

01
Discover

We learn your business — goals, platforms, infrastructure, data flows, processes, and where risk or friction is slowing you down.

02
Plan

We design the right roadmap for your situation — cloud, automation, DevOps, data, and security choices selected on business value, not trends.

03
Build

Virra builds and implements the right changes — infrastructure, automation, CI/CD, monitoring, integrations, and practical controls.

04
Launch

We test, validate, and release carefully — reducing deployment risk and improving consistency across environments.

05
Support

We stay. We monitor, optimize, secure, and adapt your systems as your business evolves.

Phase by phase

What happens at
every step.

No hidden complexity, no jargon. Here's exactly what Virra does — and what you can expect — at each phase of the engagement.

01
Phase 1 — Discover

We learn everything
before we touch anything.

Every Virra engagement starts with listening. We spend time understanding your business context, existing tools, infrastructure topology, data flows, team structure, and the specific problems or goals driving this engagement. Nothing is assumed. We ask the right questions so the plan we build is based on reality, not generic best practice.

Business context interview — goals, constraints, team structure, and what's already been tried
Technical environment review — cloud setup, tools, SaaS stack, integrations, and infrastructure
Risk and gap inventory — security, cost, reliability, and delivery risks mapped out
Stakeholder alignment — ensuring we understand everyone's priorities before committing to a direction
02
Phase 2 — Plan

The right roadmap,
built around your goals.

We synthesize everything from discovery into a practical, prioritized roadmap. Each item is chosen based on business value and risk reduction — not what's technically interesting or what's trending. The plan is written in plain English with clear priorities, realistic timelines, and full rationale so you understand every decision before we start work.

Priority matrix — quick wins, critical fixes, and longer-term improvements clearly separated
Technology recommendations — specific tools, platforms, and approaches with rationale
Cost and effort estimates — realistic scoping with no hidden surprises
Approval checkpoint — no work begins until the scope is agreed and documented
03
Phase 3 — Build

Implemented carefully,
documented completely.

Virra builds what was scoped — infrastructure, automation pipelines, CI/CD configuration, website development, security controls, data platform improvements, or any combination of services engaged. Work is done in structured phases with regular check-ins so you always know what's in progress and what's coming next.

Structured delivery — phased implementation with clear milestones and regular updates
Infrastructure as Code — all infrastructure managed through version-controlled, repeatable configurations
Documentation — everything built is documented clearly so your team understands what's running
Regular progress reviews — no going dark for weeks; you stay informed throughout
04
Phase 4 — Launch

Released carefully.
Every time.

Launch isn't just go-live. It's a structured series of validation, testing, staging checks, and controlled release steps designed to reduce risk at the moment of change — the moment most teams are most exposed. Virra validates before releasing, monitors through the launch window, and confirms stability before stepping back.

Pre-launch validation — staging environment testing, smoke tests, and rollback procedures documented
Controlled release — phased rollouts, feature flags, or maintenance windows where appropriate
Launch monitoring — active observation through the release window with rapid response if needed
Post-launch confirmation — stability confirmed before the launch phase is formally closed
05
Phase 5 — Support

We stay embedded
and keep improving.

Unlike project-based delivery, Virra doesn't hand over and disappear. We stay embedded — monitoring your environment, catching issues before they become incidents, and continuously improving what we've built as your business evolves. Support is proactive, not reactive.

Proactive monitoring — alerts and dashboards configured so we see issues before you do
Ongoing maintenance — regular updates, patches, and improvements built into the engagement
Quarterly reviews — roadmap alignment sessions to ensure priorities stay current
Rapid incident response — priority access when something urgent needs immediate attention

How long does a typical engagement take?
It depends on scope. A Foundation Review typically takes 1–2 weeks. A Build & Optimize engagement runs 4–12 weeks depending on what's being implemented. Managed Technology Partnerships are ongoing with no fixed end date.
What do I need to prepare before we start?
Very little. We come prepared with questions and guide the discovery process. Access to your tools, cloud accounts, and hosting environments is needed, but we'll tell you exactly what to share and how to share it safely.
Will this disrupt our day-to-day operations?
We work around your team's schedule and deploy changes in controlled windows to minimise disruption. For significant infrastructure changes, we stage everything first and plan rollbacks before touching production.
How do you communicate during the engagement?
You'll have a direct line to your Virra contact. We provide regular written updates, scheduled check-ins, and ad-hoc availability for questions. No ticketing systems, no waiting in a queue.
What happens after the project is delivered?
We stay. Ongoing monitoring, maintenance, and improvement are part of every engagement. You're never left managing a completed project alone — Virra remains your technical point of contact.
Can you take over from another provider or existing internal team?
Yes. We handle transitions carefully — reviewing what's been built, documenting what exists, and introducing changes in a controlled way that doesn't risk disrupting what's already working.
